The Liberty women's lacrosse team (6-10, 2-5 NLC) enters  the third annual National Lacrosse Conference Tournament (Friday-Sunday) as the No. 5 seed, as announced by the conference office.

Head Coach Regan Denham's squad will take on tournament host Davidson (5-11, 4-3, NLC) in the first round. The opening draw between the Lady Flames and the No. 4 seed Wildcats at Davidson's Richardson Stadium is slated for Friday at 2 p.m. Liberty looks to advance to the semifinals over the hosting Wildcats after dropping its regular-season meeting to Davidson on April 10, 12-8.

Liberty earned the fifth seed after finishing in a three-way tie with Detroit (3-13, 2-5 NLC) and Presbyterian College (4-12, 2-5 NLC). Remaining even after looking at head-to-head matchups and records against common opponents, the Lady Flames were awarded the spot based on their RPI. As a result of the tiebreaker, Detroit is the sixth seed, while the Blue Hose enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed.

In addition to the opening round showdown between Liberty and Davidson, three other quarterfinals matchups are also set for Friday. After remaining unbeaten in conference play, top seed Jacksonville (12-4, 7-0 NLC) kicks off tournament action against No. 8 Howard (4-11, 0-7 NLC) at 11:30 a.m. Following the Lady Flames' meeting with the Wildcats, No. 2 seed High Point (12-3, 6-1 NLC) takes the field against No. 7 Presbyterian College at 4:30 p.m. Capping off first round play, No. 3 seed Longwood (9-7, 5-2 NLC) squares off with No. 6 seed Detroit at 7 p.m.

A win over the Wildcats would pit the Lady Flames against the winner of Game 1 (Jacksonville/Howard) at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. However, a Lady Flames would drop them into the consolation bracket to face the loser of Game 1, Saturday morning, at 9 a.m.
