For the second time this season, Liberty University junior Josh McDougal (Peru, N.Y.) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McDougal earned the honor by finishing first at one of the largest and most prestigious collegiate cross country meets in America, the Roy Griak Invitational. Saturday's victory, his second straight to start the 2006 season, came in spite of a stiff challenge.

McDougal covered the 8K course at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. in 24:14, holding off Northern Arizona's Lopez Lomong by four seconds. His effort helped the Flames finish 14th out of 34 teams at the event.

The Liberty men's and women's cross country teams will participate in Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky. The meet, which begins with a men's 8K race at 9:30 a.m., will be contested at the site of November's NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
