Lacrosse Set to Face Howard Sunday
Fresh off a 15-10 win over Detroit Mercy on Friday, the Liberty women's lacrosse team (3-3, 1-0 NLC) returns to the field on Sunday to take on conference member Howard. The opening draw between the Lady Flames and the Bison is slated for 3 p.m. at Osborne Stadium.

A Look at the Lady Flames
In its second season, the Lady Flames hold are 3-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Head coach Regan Denham's squad is 3-0 this season when playing at Osborne Stadium.
Liberty is currently on a two-game win streak after picking up a 15-10 victory over fellow NLC member Detroit Mercy, Friday afternoon.
Liberty's five-goal margin of victory is its largest in program history. Each of the team's previous wins were decided by one goal.
Three Lady Flames posted three goals apiece in the win– Nina Dunay, Karis Walborn and Audra Menez, followed by Jen Moyer who netted two. Four Liberty players finished with one tally – Jen Freymond, Jordan
Richardson, Anna Starling and Annessa Jamison.
Dunay leads the Lady Flames this season with 21 goals, followed by Walborn who has 17. Dunay is also paving the way for Liberty in assists (6) and draw controls (15). On the defensive end, Freymond is the team's leader in caused turnovers with six. Kristen Masullo has started all six contests in goal for Liberty and has made 82 saves on the season.
Liberty holds a shooting percentage of .475 through the first six contests, finding the net on 67-of-141 attempts. The Lady Flames also have a team clear percentage of .739, infiltrating the offensive zone 68-of-92 times.
Scouting the Bison
The Bison enter Sunday's contest with a 3-6 record overall and a 0-2 posting in NLC play. Howard is coming off a loss to two-time defending NLC champion Longwood on Friday. The Lancers defeated the Bison in Farmville, Va., 16-4.
Last season's NLC Player of the Year Desiree Cox paced Howard, scoring all four of its goals. Four different Lancers netted two tallies in the contest, while eight players each had one en route to the Longwood victory.
Cox leads the Bison with 33 goals on the season, while Courtney Lackey and Sydney Satchell are headlining the Howard defense with 16 ground balls apiece. Ashley Foote is the team's leader in caused turnovers with 14. Amber Meek has started eight games in goal for Howard and has 102 saves (.442).
The Bison have found the back of the net on 78-of-195 shot attempts (.400), this season. In terms of clears, Howard has reached the offensive zone on 35-of-62 occasions (.565). However, the Bison have allowed their opponents to clear the ball successfully 56-of-59 times (.949).
Liberty-Howard Series Notes
The Lady Flames and Bison have met on two occasions with each team taking a contest to split the series at 1-1.
Playing in just their second contest during their inaugural season, Liberty picked up its first-ever win on March 6, 2010, defeating the Bison in overtime in Washington, D.C., 17-16.
Kristin Crowley and Lauren See led the Lady Flames with five goals apiece in the contest, each netting a tally in the overtime period to give Liberty the victory. Howard's Desiree Cox posted six goals in the contest to lead the Bison.
Howard ended Liberty's inaugural season on May 1, defeating the Lady Flames in the National Lacrosse Conference Tournament, 17-11. Sierra Clearwater led Liberty with five goals in the contest, followed by Chloe McIntosh who had a hat trick. However, Cox netted seven of Howard's 17 tallies to give the Bison the win.
