Lady Flames Ashley Bensinger, Meredith Crisante and Tiffani Smith were named to the UMBC Retriever Classic All-Tournament team, UMBC Head Coach Joe French announced today.

Liberty went 3-0 in the tournament, which ended early due to inclement weather. The Lady Flames defeated Siena (11-3), Mount St. Mary's (2-1) and Princeton (8-2). Liberty was the only team to go undefeated in the event, which also included host UMBC and Iona.

Senior catcher Bensinger safely hit in all three games, and hit 2-for-2 with her first home run of the season against Princeton.

Crisante, a junior outfielder, nearly tied a program record when she drove in six runs against Siena. She was 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs in the contest, and her six RBIs trails only two players in Liberty history for most RBIs in a game. The record is held by Amanda Maska (seven vs. East Carolina on April 17, 2004) and Tiffany Johnson (seven vs. West Virginia Tech on April 9, 2005).

Smith picked up two wins during the tournament, as she started against Siena and entered the Princeton game in relief. In nine complete innings of work, the 2011 Big South Preseason Pitcher of the Year posted a 2.33 ERA and struck out 13 batters.

The Lady Flames are back in action this weekend, appearing in the Stetson Classic in DeLand, Fla.
