Hannah Fick and Rebekah Jenkins paired together for a victory at No. 3 doubles, helping the Lady Flames secure the doubles point against Old Dominion.

The Liberty women's tennis team earned the doubles point against Old Dominion Friday afternoon, but the Lady Monarchs rebounded to take four of the six singles contests for the 4-3 win.

The Lady Flames (3-3) earned the doubles points behind wins from their NO. 2 and NO. 3 pairings. Rebekah Jenkins and Hannah Fick took their No. 3 doubles match, 8-5, over Diana Ivanova and Juliana Pires, while Alexandra Sheeran and Carol Lobel squeezed out a win in their No. 2 doubles contest, 9-8, over Nika Khmolovska and Arina Alilueva.

The Lady Monarchs struck back quickly in singles competition, taking the first four matches in the line-up. Jordan Jenkins and Cameron Richard put up fights in their respective No. 1 and No. 3 matches, both of which took three sets to decide. Jenkins' defeat was her first setback of the season in singles competition.

Liberty's singles victories came at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, also in three set contests. After dropping the opening set, 6-2, Lobel edged out Khmolovska, 6-5, in the second. She then secured the win, 10-4 in the deciding frame of the No. 5 match.

Rebekah Jenkins found herself in the same position after dropping her first set, 6-4. In the second set, the Sarasota, Fla., native scored a 7-5 win. She then took the deciding set 10-7 to earn her fourth consecutive victory at No. 6.

Jenkins has gotten used to being the victor despite finding herself in an early hole in her most recent matches. After facing a one set deficit in her last three singles contests, Jenkins has rallied each time to claim a point for the Lady Flames.

The Lady Flames take a short break from competition, as their next match comes on Feb. 26 when they open Big South play in Rock Hill, S.C., against Winthrop. The contest is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
