Men's Golf Struggles During First Two Rounds

The Flames had a rough start to the 2006-07 season as they find themselves placed sixteen out seventeen teams after two rounds at the UNC Greensboro's Mid Pines Intercollegiate.

The Flames shot a 597 for 36 holes of competition and find themselves 37 shots off tournament leader Wichita State (560). Wisconsin (562) and Old Dominion (563) find themselves on the heels of the Shockers at two and three strokes respectively.

Neil O'Briein of Wofford is leading the pack at 12-under par after shooting with both Ryan Spears and Ty Sanders of Wichita State as his closest competition heading into the final round at 6-under par.

Raul Calvo led the Flames as he finished the second round at five over par. Rounding out the Flames top performers was Michael Turner who matched Calvo after shooting a Liberty best two under-par 70 in the second round.

The Flames will return to action tomorrow for a final 18 holes of competition at the par 72, 6,528 course.
