Flames shortstop Matt Williams slides home safely during a contest in 2010, while Lady Flame shortstop Kelly Strickland makes a play on a ground ball last season. Both the Flames and Lady Flames are scheduled to appear on ESPNU this season.

ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, has announced it will televise Liberty's baseball contest at Coastal Carolina on April 2 live from Charles L. Watson Stadium and Liberty's softball contest at Winthrop on April 3 live from Terry Field.

The baseball telecast, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., will be a rematch of last year's Big South Championship title game. Last season, Liberty set a school record for wins in a season with a 42-19 record. Head Coach Jim Toman's team was picked to finish second in the Big South in its annual preseason poll of the conference's head coaches.

The softball telecast is slated for the following afternoon, starting at 2 p.m. The Lady Flames finished 2010 with a 39-18 overall record. Head Coach Paul Wetmore's team was tabbed to finish second in the Big South Conference standings this season by the conference's head coaches in its preseason poll.

ESPNU is televising a regular-season Big South baseball game for the sixth consecutive year. Big South softball is appearing on ESPNU for the fifth consecutive year.

Liberty begins its 2011 baseball season on Feb. 18, with a four-game weekend series at Mercer, while Lady Flames softball opens its 2011 campaign on Feb. 25 against Iowa State at the College of Charleston Tournament. The tournament runs from Feb. 25-27.
