Hannah Fick went 2-0 in the Lady Flames sweep over Davidson last week.

Liberty's Hannah Fick has been named the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference this afternoon.

While the Lady Flames had just one match this past week, it was a significant victory, as the Liberty women swept Davidson for the first win against the Wildcats in program history.

Senior Fick picked up two wins in the Davidson shutout, playing in the No. 2 spot in both doubles and singles. Pairing with freshman Rebekah Jenkins in doubles, the duo defeated Allison Rauh and Brites Moniz-Soares, 8-6.

The Hamilton, New Zealand native then dropped her opening set, 6-2, against Nisha Crauser in singles and was forced to rally from behind to earn the win. After taking the tiebreak in the second, 7-6 (5), Fick leveled the match to enter a breaker as the deciding factor. She then won 10-7 to secure her victory.

Fick is the third Lady Flame to be honored by the Big South early in the season. Last week Liberty swept the conference's women's awards, as Jordan Jenkins was selected as the Player of the Week, while Cameron Richard garnered Freshman of the Week honors.

Fick and the Lady Flames are back in action on Sunday, travelling to UNC Wilmington for a 1 p.m. contest.
