The Liberty women's basketball team (8-7, 3-0 Big South) will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule and a nine-game road swing Friday at 7 p.m., when the Lady Flames face local rival Longwood (3-11) at Willett Hall.

The Lady Flames, playing their best basketball of the 2010-11 season, have won four games in a row and five of their last six outings. Meanwhile, Longwood has dropped five of its last six contests.

Longwood (27 meetings) is Liberty's second most common non-conference opponent in program history, trailing only VCU (32 meetings). Longwood owns a 15-12 advantage in the head-to-head series, but Liberty has won each of the teams' last five meetings.

Liberty is just 1-11 all-time against Longwood, when playing in Farmville. The lone victory came in the Lady Flames' most recent visit to Willett Hall, on Feb. 1, 2006. Led by Courtney Watkins' 14 points and Rebecca Lightfoot's 12 points, Liberty notched a 77-50 win.

Liberty and Longwood have played three common opponents this season—High Point, James Madison and VCU. The Lady Flames are 2-1 in those games, while the Lancers are 0-3.

Avery Warley has been a key part of the Lady Flames' recent success, averaging 11.3 ppg and 11.8 rpg during Liberty's four-game winning streak. She has notched three double-doubles in the last four outings, including an 11-point, 11-rebound effort at UNC Asheville on Sunday.

Warley will get to match up against Longwood's Brittanni Billups on Friday. The 6-1 junior forward paces the Lancers in both points (12.2 ppg) and rebounds (6.9 rpg).

Another name to watch on Longwood's roster is Emilee Dunton. The 5-8 freshman guard was a teammate of the Lady Flames' Brittany Campbell at Brookville High School and is the daughter of former Liberty men's basketball head coach Randy Dunton. She scored nine points on three triples during the Lancers' last game, a 69-65 loss at Cornell on Sunday.
