Amoo, Bentick Named to All-South Atlantic Region Team

Defender Uriah Bentick was named to the South Atlantic Region team.

Liberty men's soccer players Darren Amoo and Uriah Bentick have been named to the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Performance Subaru South Atlantic Region team.

Both Flames were named to the all-region second team. Amoo was selected to the second team for the second consecutive year, while Bentick was named to the team for the first time.

Amoo, redshirt sophomore, was named first team All-Big South for the second year in a row, after leading the Big South Conference in goals for the second-straight year with 12. The forward also tied for the conference lead with 27 points (12 goals and three assists). The Accra, Ghana native finished the year ranked sixth in the nation by averaging 0.75 points per game and 11th in the country by averaging 1.69 points per game.

Bentick, a sophomore, was earned an All-Big South first team selection in his first season as a full-time starter at defender for the Flames. The Port of Spain, Trinidad native recorded seven points during the year, scoring three goals and assisting on another.

Both players were instrumental to the Flames posting their fourth consecutive season with 10 or more victories. Liberty posted a 10-7-1 record in 2010.
