The Lady Flames finished fall competition with a sixth-place finish at the Radford Highlander Invitational.

After three days of competition, the Liberty Lady Flames wrapped up the 2010 Radford Highlander Invitational, Saturday afternoon, finishing sixth out of eight participating teams. The Lady Flames ended their appearance in the meet with 342 points, ahead of No. 7 Millersville (277) and No. 8 North Carolina A&T (25).

Brye Ravettine, who won the 50y freestyle on Thursday, picked up another victory today, finishing first in the 100y freestyle with a time of 52.62, just ahead of Courtney Griffith of Mount St. Mary's, who was second with a time of 52.79. Ravettine's time in the finals was more than a second faster than her 53.88 time during the preliminary rounds this morning.

Lindsey Romkes became Liberty's second swimmer to finish in the top five in the same event, clocking a time of 53.87 for fourth place.

Liberty's Amber Kerico enjoyed a top-eight finish in the 200y breaststroke, finishing No. 6 with a time of 2:35.81. Bethany Wakeley enjoyed her second straight day of solid competition, setting a new season-best time in the 200y butterfly (2:11.55), good for second place.

The Lady Flames' relay team of Romkes, Ravettine, Dani Fletcher and Sarah McCorkle also enjoyed another strong showing, finishing second in the 400y freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.15.

Liberty is now finished with fall competition, and the Lady Flames are back in action on Jan. 8, 2011, competing in the Florida Gulf Coast Duals in Fort Myers, Fla.
