Liberty women's soccer midfielder Madison Short and Maggie Woody were named to the Big South All-Tournament team, as announced by the conference office.

Entering as the tournament's No. 6 seed, Liberty defeated No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina in the quarterfinals of the 2010 Big South Championship on Friday, 3-2. Short was instrumental in the victory, feeding a pass to teammate Ariana Espinoza, who netted Liberty's third goal of the contest in the 61st minute.

In the semifinals, the Lady Flames matched up with No. 7 seed Gardner-Webb. After the contest went scoreless through two overtimes, the Runnin' Bulldogs advanced on penalty kicks, 4-2.

Short started all 21 games for the Lady Flames this season, finishing the year with a team-leading eight assists. The midfielder's total number of helpers ranks second all-time behind Nancy Davis in the Liberty record books for the most assists in a single season. During her two seasons at Liberty, Short has racked up 10 assists, tying for third on Liberty's career assists listing.

In her final season with the Lady Flames, Woody chipped in one goal and three assists. The Asheville, N.C., native concludes her career with a combined six goals, nine assists and 21 points.
