Sophomore Tristan Stayt went 2-1, advancing to the semifinals of the Crimson Tide Fall Championships.

Liberty men's tennis players Siim Tuus and Tristan Stayt completed the Flames' fall tournament schedule over the weekend, competing in the Crimson Tide Fall Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The tournament consisted of players from 24 teams across the country, making it a strongly competitive event.

Stayt completed his last tournament of the year by going 2-1 for the event, advancing to the semifinals. In the opening round, Stayt defeated Adam Bernsetin of Tulane, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2, in the Namath Draw of the event. Stayt next faced Memphis' John Taylor in the quarterfinal round. Despite dropping the first set, 4-6, the Flames' sophomore rallied back, winning the final two sets, 6-3, 6-2. In the semifinals, Stayt matched up with host Alabama's Michael Thompson, and dropped the contest to the eventual champion in the draw, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.

Tuus lost his opening round contest to Alabama-Birmingham's David Zimmerman, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

In doubles play, Stayt and Tuus fell to the Brian Alden and Stephen Hoh duo from Illinois, 8-5 in the opening round.

With the completion of the weekend's event, the men's tennis team finished their fall schedule and will begin their spring schedule in late January.
