Scott Clymer and the Flames will hold their annual wrestle offs on Thursday evening in the Vines Center.

The 2010-11 Liberty wrestling squad will be on display Thursday evening, as Head Coach Jesse Castro uses the annual preseason red and blue intrasquad wrestle off to set his starting lineup for the upcoming season. The matches will begin at 7 p.m. in the Vines Center.

The exhibition will involve match-ups in seven of the 10 collegiate wrestling weight classes, with 125 pounds, 184 pounds and heavyweight not holding official wrestle offs.  Additional exhibition matches will be held at the 125, 133, 141 and 157 pound weight classes.

Two of Liberty's six returning NCAA national qualifiers are scheduled to grapple.

Joe Pantaleo made his first appearance at the NCAAs last season after capturing the individual title at 133 pounds at the NCAA East Regional Championships. Pantaleo will face off against challenger TJ Mitchell.

Scott Clymer also made his first NCAA tournament appearance last season by winning the 141 pound weight class title at the NCAA East Regional Championships. In the national event, Clymer picked up a victory over No. 11 seed Adin Duenas of Cal State Fullerton. The win marked the program's eighth win in the championship bracket of the NCAA National Championships, and the fourth win for the program over a seeded opponent in the tournament. This season, Clymer will compete at the 149-pound weight class. Clymer's opponent in the wrestle offs will be senior Justin Krop.

Pantaleo and Clymer both enter the season holding a preseason ranking. Pantaleo is positioned at No. 20 in the 133-pound weight class by Amateur Wrestling News, while Clymer sits at No. 18 at 149 pounds in the Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine (WIN) 2010-11 preseason rankings.
