As part of the festivities surrounding Liberty's grand re-opening of Williams Stadium on Saturday, Liberty Athletics will be closing the evening with a major fireworks show.

Following a nine-month expansion project, Liberty will be re-opening an expanded Williams Stadium against Savannah State. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m., Liberty's last night game of the season.

The expansion includes the addition of more than 7,000 seats, an upper deck seating area and a five-story facility that features an 11,000-square foot club pavilion, 18 luxury suites and a complete press level.

Directly following the non-conference battle with the Tigers and a team prayer on the field, the fireworks show will begin. Because of the fireworks, the parking lot in front and to the east of the Liberty Bookstore will be closed, keeping the area clear of any debris from the show.

Additionally, University Boulevard will be closed to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic from Ericsson Drive (next to the LaHaye Ice Center) to Stadium Road (between the Hancock Athletic Center and Osborne Stadium), plus Liberty University Drive (bridge over Highway 460) to Liberty Mountain Drive.

These roads will be closed directly after the conclusion of the contest, throughout the fireworks show and for approximately 10 minutes following the fireworks show.
