2010 Liberty Women's Soccer Schedule

Liberty women's soccer head coach Jessica Hain has announced the Lady Flames' 2010 fall schedule.

For the second-consecutive year, Liberty opens its season on the road against Virginia, squaring off with the Cavaliers on Aug. 20. The Commonwealth clash marks the eighth-straight year the Lady Flames have matched up with the ACC power.

Liberty then prepares for a trio of contests in the Palmetto State, beginning with South Carolina State, Aug. 22, in Orangeburg, S.C. Five days later, the Lady Flames head to Rock Hill, S.C., to take part in the Winthrop Tournament. Liberty begins tournament play against Appalachian State on Aug. 27, followed by a contest versus Marshall on Aug. 29.

The Lady Flames take to Osborne Stadium for their home opener on Sept. 3, playing host to 2009 CAA runner-up James Madison. Following a pair of road games against VCU (Sept. 10) and Elon (Sept. 12), Liberty returns to Osborne Stadium for back-to-back home games with Southern Virginia (Sept. 15) and Howard (Sept. 17). Hain's squad closes out the month of September on the road, as the team travels east on U.S. Route 460 to take on Longwood (Sept. 24).

October marks the beginning of the Big South season for the Lady Flames, starting with a South Carolina beach trip, which features games against Charleston Southern (Oct. 2) and Coastal Carolina (Oct. 4).

Liberty then returns to Osborne Stadium for its longest homestand of the season, hosting Winthrop (Oct. 9), Gardner-Webb (Oct. 11) and defending Big South Champion High Point (Oct. 16) in succession.

Liberty remains in the Commonwealth for its final pair of road games against Radford (Oct. 22) and VMI (Oct. 24), before closing out the season at home versus UNC Asheville (Oct. 27) and Presbyterian (Oct. 29).

The Lady Flames will head back to Radford, Va., for the Big South Championship, Nov. 4-7. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament.
