Liberty sophomore Brandon Hoskins won a silver medal in the decathlon while representing the United States at the recent North America, Central America, Caribbean Athletic Association Under-23 (NACAC U-23) Track & Field Championships.
The meet, which featured athletes from 28 nations, was contested July 7-9 at Panamerican Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Hoskins, aided by strong efforts in the 100-meter dash (10.84) and the 400-meter dash (49.03), totaled 7086 points in the 10-discipline, two-day event to place second overall.
Only his United States teammate, Chris Richardson, a junior at Long Beach State, finished ahead of Hoskins, taking the gold medal with 7243 points.
A month earlier, Hoskins competed in the decathlon at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the second-consecutive year.
