Liberty's men's basketball player Larry Blair has been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) first-team all-state men's basketball team, marking the second-straight year that Blair has been named to the all-state squad.
Blair (Jr., G, Charlotte, N.C.) led the Flames in almost every offensive category this year as he averaged 22.6 points per game, while shooting 40.4 percent from the field (234-of-579), 35.6 percent from three-point range (64-of-180) and 79.9 percent from the free throw line (147-of-184). The guard made his first appearance on the state squad last year as a second-team selection.
Blair joins former Liberty standout Peter Aluma as the only players to receive VaSID first-team all-state men's basketball honors in the history of the program. Aluma was selected to the team twice during the 1996 and 1997 seasons.
Blair enters his final season just two spots behind Aluma on the Flames' all-time career scoring list. Blair currently stands in seventh place with 1,580 career points, while Aluma finished his four-year career with 1,715 points which ranks fifth best in school history.
