Today's "Rounding the Bases" feature highlights Lady Flame Keely McMillon.

Today's "Rounding the Bases" segment features Keely McMillon, a junior from Vermontville, Mich.

McMillon, a catcher, has appeared in 26 games for the Lady Flames this season, starting in 17 contests. She has recorded eight hits and driven in six runs. She was named to the 2009 Big South Championship All-Tournament Team as a sophomore. The graduate of Lansing Catholic High School was named All-Area, All-District, All-Region and All-Conference all four years of her prep career.

McMillon, the daughter of Rod and Corrine McMillon, is pursuing a degree in sport management at Liberty.

Getting to know Keely McMillon

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Mark 10:27 – "Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God.' All things are possible with God."

I know it's not good for me, but I love to eat …
Cookies, especially my mom's.

What is the best movie you watched over the last year?
Harry Potter. I love those movies.

I came to Liberty because …
Softball, and the Christian foundation of everything that is Liberty.

Share something about one of your teammates that someone outside the program would never know without you telling them.
Jenna's hips are so rigid she can't do single leg squats during workouts.

My earliest memory while competing in my sport is …
My parents throwing tennis balls at me with my hands tied behind my back, to help with blocking and catching. Don't worry, I had gear on.

If you could be somebody else for a day, who would you be and why?
Kittery Maine (women's basketball), so I would know what it would feel like to be 6-4.

The best part of being a Liberty student-athlete is…
Being able to meet other students and athletes and going out to support other teams.

My dream job would be…
A college athletic director.

The team that I'm most looking forward to competing against this year is (and why) …
Radford, because they beat us last year in the championship game.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Sonic speed, so I would know what it feels like to be fast.

The TV show I can't live without watching each week is…
Grey's Anatomy. When it first came out my mom and I started watching it, so now we always watch it and then talk about it the next day.

If I were named "Coach for a Day," I would make my coaches…
Go through our Friday workout with Anna.

My favorite thing about being a part of the Liberty softball team is …
Being able to play the game I love with a great group of girls.

My personal goals this season are …
To become a better player, teammate and person.

What is the most exciting thing you did this summer?
I helped my parents and grandparents a lot with house work. I learned to drive a stick shift tractor, and I used a push lawn mower for the first time.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
I've never had a ‘real' vacation. I always played travel softball during the summers.

Do you have any pre-game habits/rituals, and what are they?
Listen to music and chew a piece of gum.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
"Trust yourself."
