Today's "Rounding the Bases" segment features Tiffani Smith, a junior right-handed pitcher from Hanover, Pa.

Smith has appeared in 35 games for the Lady Flames this season, starting 19 contests in the circle. She is currently 18-6, which gives her the third-most single-season wins in Liberty program history. She also leads all Big South Conference pitchers with 192 strikeouts and a .193 opposing batting average, and has been named the Big South Pitcher of the Week three times this season.

Smith, the daughter of Phil and Paula Smith, is majoring in elementary education at Liberty.

I wanted to play Division I softball and compete while giving God all the glory. Also, to earn my degree in elementary education.

When I played on a 12U team, I was pitching and broke a little girl's hand, sending her to the hospital immediately.

Being recognized for all the hard work and time put into my classes and performances on the field.

Teaching elementary school kids and coaching softball.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Fly – that way, I wouldn't need a car and have to pay for gas, or deal with traffic.

What is the most exciting thing you did this summer?
I went to Cape May, N.J. with my mom and two sisters for a day trip to the lighthouse and the beach.

Any beach or mountains – camping and relaxing.
