Green Named VaSID Coach of the Year; Frazee Named to All-State Second Team

For the second-consecutive year, Liberty head women's basketball coach Carey Green has been chosen by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association as the 2006 VaSID Coach of the Year. Green is joined by freshman Megan Frazee, who was selected to the All-State second team.

Green led Liberty to a 25-6 record in 2005-06. He was also named the Richmond Times Dispatch State Coach of the Year.

Frazee, a 6-3 forward from Xenia, Ohio, led the Lady Flames in every statistical category, including 18.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, before having her season cut short with an ACL injury after just 14 games.

The Lady Flames marched to their tenth-consecutive Big South Conference Championship, the seventh under Green, who has won the Big South Championship in each year since he arrived at Liberty in 1999.

William & Mary's Kyra Kaylor was named the VaSID Player of the ear, and Quanitra Hollingsworth of Virginia Commonwealth was named the Rookie of the Year. A full listing of the Division I award winners and All-State team is below.
