2010 Women's Tennis Team

The Liberty Lady Flames have been seeded seventh for this week's Big South Women's Tennis Championship. Liberty will meet No. 2 seed Winthrop in the first round on Thursday in Radford, Va.

Liberty garners the No. 7 seed, after tying with Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian with 1-6 conference records. By virtue of tiebreaking scenarios between the three, Gardner-Webb received the No. 6 seed.

Charleston Southern is the No. 1 seed for the tournament with a 7-0 conference record.

The 2010 Big South Women's Tennis Championship begins this Thursday, with three matches at the Radford Tennis Courts, and concludes with the title game on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Liberty-Winthrop match will be the second match of the day on Thursday, starting at Noon.

The Big South's tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.

The conference championship schedule is as follows:

Thursday, April 22
Match 1: No. 4 UNC Asheville vs. No.5 Radford, 9 a.m.
Match 2: No. 2 Winthrop vs. No. 7 Liberty, Noon
Match 3: No. 3 Coastal Carolina vs. No. 6 Gardner-Webb, 3 p.m.

Friday, April 23
Match 4: No. 1 Charleston Southern vs. Match 1 Winner, 9 a.m.
Match 5: Match 2 Winner vs. Match 3 Winner, Noon

Saturday, April 24
Match 6: Match 4 Winner vs. Match 5 Winner, 9 a.m.
