Pinder Announces Volleyball Transfer From N.C. State
Liberty University head volleyball coach Shane Pinder has announced the signing of volleyball transfer Brittany Pacella who will be joining the Lady Flames after spending the last year at N.C. State.

"We are excited to add Brittany Pacella to the '06 Lady Flames recruiting class," stated Pinder. "Brittany is a very physical and gifted volleyball player who will add depth to our program."

Pacella, who sat out the 2005 playing season at N.C. State while recovering from knee surgery, is a 6-0 right-side hitter and setter who graduated from Reading Holy Name High School in Reading, Pa. in 2004.

She was a first-team all-state selection during her senior year, while garnering Player of the Year honors from both her league and county. Pacella finished her senior year with 524 kills, 393 digs, 106 blocks and 59 service aces.

"She will also bring a very competitive attitude to our program transferring in from the ACC conference," continued Pinder on the transfer. "This will complete a very talented freshmen class for the Lady Flames and set a foundation for the future."

A two-time first-team all-district and all-Berks County selection, Pacella captained the squad her senior season, leading the team to a runner-up finish at the state championship and a 25-3 overall record.

Pacella also plays for the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy, one of the top clubs in the entire Northeast, and she has helped PVA qualify for nationals for two-straight years during the summer months of her prep junior and senior years.
