Liberty Wrestling Announces Schedule for 2006-07 Season
The Liberty Flames will return to wrestling competition for the first time since 1994, when the Flames travel to Blacksburg, Va. on November 5 to square off in a quad-match with Anderson, Gardner-Webb and Virginia Tech, as Flames head coach Jesse Castro announced the completion of the 2006-07 schedule.

The 2006-07 season will mark the return of the program from an 11-year hiatus as Liberty sponsored the sport from 1974-94.

Also, highlighting the schedule will be the first home wrestling match at Liberty since 1994 on November 22, the Reno Invitational Tournament on December 20 and the Virginia Duals on January 13.

Liberty's schedule features three quad, two tri and four dual matches along with a full slate of tournaments. As part of that slate, the Flames will participate in the Naval Academy Invitational, Spartan Invitational hosted by York (Pa.) College, the Penn State Open, the Reno Invitational and the Virginia State Intercollegiates.  In total, Liberty is slated to compete in 16 events over their four-month season.

Liberty will host three home matches, starting with a quad on November 22.  The Flames will host James Madison, Campbellsville and Newberry in a quad match.  In addition, Liberty will host King College on January 30 and VMI on February 15.
