Liberty's Tristan Stayt has been named the Big South Men's Tennis Freshmen of the Week for matches played March 22-28.

Stayt, a freshman from New Plymouth, New Zealand, recorded two singles victories last week and pushed his singles win streak to eight straight matches. He won in straight sets in both matches last week, including a big win over UNC Asheville's Matt Waissen, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2 singles to help the Flames post a 4-3 victory. He also teamed with Siim Tuus to help Liberty claim the doubles point by defeating Waissen and Jonas Brobeck, 8-3. The win was the duo's 11th on the year.

After defeating Longwood last night, 5-2, the Flames are off the courts until April 10, when they host the Radford Highlanders in a Big South Conference match at the LU Tennis Courts. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
