The Liberty men's soccer team has announced its 2010 Spring schedule. The Flames will have five spring dates in preparation for the 2010 season. Highlighting the scheduled is a match with defending National Champion Virginia on April 8. Besides the Cavaliers, the Flames will face several opponents who will challenge in their conferences this season. Liberty will host Longwood at Osborne Stadium in its lone home contest of the spring on April 15.

"I feel this will be the most difficult spring we have had in my time at LU," stated head coach Jeff Alder. "Every team we will face this spring will have a chance to compete for their conference championship next season.

"Virginia is returning most of their roster from their team that just won the National Championship, so it will be exciting for us to measure ourselves against them. We are still trying to get guys healthy who were injured during this past season's Big South Championship, so due to limited numbers on our roster at this time, we will be able to get a lot of guys significant minutes in some very difficult environments."

Liberty posted a 12-5-3 record in 2009. For the third consecutive year, the Flames recorded a double-digit win total. Liberty also posted 12 shutouts, tying the1985 Liberty squad for the most blankings in a season in school history. Alder's team allowed 11 goals, the fewest by a Liberty team since 1999, ranking fifth in the nation with a 0.53 team goals-against average.
