Liberty's Jordan Jenkins has been selected as the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon.

Jenkins, a junior, won both of her No. 1 singles matches this past weekend. She also teamed with fellow junior Hannah Fick for a win at No. 1 doubles against West Virginia, Friday.

Jenkins began her weekend with wins in both singles and doubles in a match with West Virginia. In No. 1 singles, the Sarasota, Fla., native won in straight sets, dropping only two games, 6-1, 6-1. She and Fick also won 8-2 in their doubles match in the contest.

On Saturday, Jenkins claimed victory in No. 1 singles in a contest with James Madison. Once again, the Liberty junior fell in only two games, in capturing a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Jenkins and the rest of the Liberty women's tennis team (1-3) return to the courts, Sunday, when the Lady Flames visit Virginia Tech, ranked No. 55 nationally, for an indoor match. The contest is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.
