Liberty men's tennis player Ben Wirth has been selected as the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon.

Wirth, a junior, won both of his singles matches at No. 6 singles this past weekend. He also teamed with senior Louis Steyn to win at No. 2 doubles against Morgan State, Friday, in his spring in a Liberty uniform.

The transfer kicked off the spring with a straight-set singles win and a doubles victory in Liberty's spring opener over Morgan State. Sunday, he won in singles during the Flames' setback at Old Domionion.

Wirth and the rest of the Liberty men's tennis team (1-1) return to the courts on Feb. 6, when they visit Mary Washington. The contest is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m
