The Liberty women's tennis team has been predicted to finish fourth in the Big South Conference standings this spring, as the league's annual preseason poll announced earlier this afternoon. The poll is voted on by the conference's head women's tennis coaches.

The Lady Flames received 44 points in being picked fourth. Liberty was edged for third place by one point by Charleston Southern, who received 45 points from the panel.

Last season, Liberty posted the most wins in program history with a 15-7 overall mark, while placing second in the Big South Conference regular season standing with a 6-1 record. The Lady Flames return all-conference players Jordan Jenkins, Nadia Solomon-Burgess and Hannah Fick, along with junior Valeria Klintsevich and senior Fabiana Gouveia.

Winthrop was chosen to capture the Big South Conference's women's crown in April, garnering six first-place votes and 62 points from the panel. Coastal Carolina garnered the other two first place votes and was selected second with 52 votes.

Match time is scheduled for 9 a.m. The 2010 Big South Women'sTennis Conference Championship is slated for April 22-24, on the campus of Radford University.
