The Liberty women's soccer team is preparing for its final homestand of 2009, as the Lady Flames will host Radford on Saturday and the Keydets of VMI on Monday. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. at Osborne Stadium.

The Lady Flames (7-6-1, 4-0-1 Big South) are unbeaten in their last seven games, a streak that ties the 2005 squad for the longest unbeaten streak in program history. Liberty is also the only unbeaten team in the Big South.

Sophomore midfielder Silvia Betancourt leads the Lady Flames with seven goals and one assist on the year, while Maria Owen has scored three goals and recorded three assists. Keeper Karen Blocker, who hasn't allowed a goal since an Oct. 3 tie with Charleston Southern, has made 92 saves for a 1.18 goals-against average. She leads the Big South with six shutouts, and has only allowed one goal in the last 719:05.

Radford (8-7, 5-1 Big South) is currently atop the Big South standings. The Highlanders' only conference loss came against Coastal Carolina in a 1-0 decision on Oct. 12. Radford is led by Mary Wiley, who has scored five goals this season. Keeper Lisa Lubke has made 68 saves and posts a 1.01 goals-against average.

The Lady Flames are 6-12-3 all-time against the defending conference champion Highlanders, with Radford taking last year's contest, 3-1, on Oct. 15, 2008. The Highlanders have not won in Lynchburg since Sept. 23, 1999.

VMI (5-9, 3-3 Big South) sits in the No. 6 slot in the conference standings. Chrissy Beach and Amanda Berrios lead the Keydets with three goals apiece, while goalkeeper Angela Redmond is ranked second in the Big South with a 0.85 goals-against average.

Liberty is 4-1-0 all-time against VMI, with the Keydets winning last year's match, 2-0, on Sept. 24, 2008. The Lady Flames have won both home meetings against VMI, by a combined score of 4-1.
