The Lady Flames, currently the only unbeaten Big South team in conference play, will continue the 2009 campaign Saturday with a road game against the Panthers of High Point. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Liberty (6-6-1, 3-0-1 Big South), currently atop the Big South standings, is on a six-game unbeaten streak, which ties the 2000 Lady Flames for the second-longest unbeaten streak in program history.
The 2005 Lady Flames won seven straight games, between Oct. 18 and Nov. 6.

The Lady Flames are led by Silvia Betancourt, who has scored seven goals on the year, tying for third in the conference. Maria Owen has scored three goals and recorded three assists, and leads the team with 47 total shots. Keeper Karen Blocker has given up only one goal over the last 629:05, since yielding the second of two goals at Northern Illinois on Sept. 20. She has saved 36 of the last 37 shots she has faced in net for the Lady Flames.

High Point (2-12-1, 1-2-1 Big South) is coming off a scoreless tie against conference opponent Winthrop on Oct. 11. The contest, held in Rock Hill, S.C., ended at 0-0 after two overtime periods.

The Panthers' last win came on Oct. 3, with a 1-0 victory over Coastal Carolina at home.

High Point is led by Laura Shupe, who has scored one goal and recorded one assist in 2009.

Goalkeeper Marisa Abbott has made 90 saves for a 1.56 goals-against average.

The Lady Flames are 9-7-2 all-time against the Panthers. In last year's contest, High Point took a 3-1 decision, Oct. 8, in Lynchburg.
