Today's "Open Net" segment features senior Bethany Lam.

Today, the "Open Net" segment spotlights Bethany Lam, a senior from Amissville, Va.

Lam, a defender for the Lady Flames, graduated from Fresta Valley Christian School, where she was named the state MVP as a senior, and received all-tournament honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Lam is majoring in inter-cultural studies at Liberty.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Romans 5:8. It reveals the love that God has for those of us who sin against Him.

What has been your favorite class at Liberty and why?
Bible 105 (Old Testament). I enjoyed studying the Old Testament in its entirety.

I know it's not good for me, but I love to eat …

What was the best movie you watched over the last year?
Transformers II.

I came to Liberty because …
I wanted to attend a Christian university and I just went out on a limb and chose LU!

Share something about one of your teammates that someone outside the program would never know without you telling them.
Kendra Dalton worked on a farm all summer, stacking hay bales.

My earliest memory while competing in my sport is …
I was on a boys' travel team as a defender and I slide-tackled another player. The crowd went wild.

If you could be somebody else for a day, who would you be and why?
Hannah Montana… she's got the best of both worlds.

My dream job would be …
A missionary.

What is the best book you have ever read (other than the Bible)?
The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
To fly, so I could go all over the world for free.

The TV show I can't live without watching each week is (and why) ...
When the time comes, American Idol.

If I were named "Coach for a Day", I would make my coaches (and why) …
Do whatever I say! But nothing too hard, because they're so good to us.

My favorite thing about being a part of the Liberty women's soccer team is (and why) …
The friendships with my teammates.

If you could have dinner with three people throughout history, who would they be and why?
Jesus, obviously. Pele, a great soccer player, because I could use a few tips. And George Washington, because it would be cool to eat with the first president of the United States.

My personal goals this season are …
To glorify God.

What is the most exciting thing you did this summer?
I went to Orlando, Fla. as a youth leader for the National Fine Arts Festival.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Nepal.
