The Liberty women's soccer team will continue conference play this afternoon, hosting 2008 Big South regular season champion Coastal Carolina at Osborne Stadium. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Lady Flames (3-6-1, 0-0-1 Big South) are coming off a 1-1 tie in Saturday's conference opener against the visiting Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern. Maria Owen scored the Liberty goal, assisted by Aimee Luurtsema and Silvia Betancourt. The goal was Owen's second of the season. Goalkeeper Karen Blocker continued he strong play, recording six saves in the contest.

Unbeaten in their last three contests (2-0-1), Liberty is led by Betancourt, who has compiled nine points on four goals and one assist. Owen is second on the team with two goals and an assist for five points.

Blocker has played all 920:00 in goal this season for the Lady Flames. The sophomore keeper has posted a 1.66 goals-against average and made 62 saves. Blocker has only allowed one goal in her last three contests.

Coastal Carolina (2-9-1, 0-1-0 Big South) is coming off a 1-0 loss to High Point in its 2009 Big South opener on Saturday in High Point, N.C. The Chanticleers are led by Dana Gentile, who has scored four goals this season. Goalie Karen Pavlick has recorded 33 saves for a 2.38 goals-against average. The team has posted wins over Jacksonville and USC Upstate.

Liberty is 6-4-0 all-time against the Chanticleers, dropping the most recent contest, 3-2, on Oct. 3, 2008, in Conway, S.C.
