The Liberty women's soccer team will begin a four-game homestand tonight, hosting Francis Marion. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Lady Flames (1-6) recently returned from a road trip to Indiana and Illinois, where they suffered losses to Valparaiso, 1-0, and Northern Illinois, 2-1. Liberty is looking to snap a five-game losing streak, as its last victory came on Aug. 30 with a 2-1 win over East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Lady Flames are led by sophomore Silvia Betancourt and freshman Madison Short, who each have scored two goals on the year. Junior Maria Owen leads the team in shots with 21, while keeper Karen Blocker has recorded 46 saves. Blocker also leads the Big South with 6.57 saves per game.

The Patriots (1-7-1) most recently tied Appalachian State on Sept. 20 in a game that remained scoreless through two overtime periods. Francis Marion picked up its lone win of the season on Sept. 13, with a 1-0 victory over Big South member Presbyterian.

Francis Marion is led by Amanda Hall, who has scored two goals on the year, while goalkeeper Casey Durnham has recorded 50 saves for a 3.04 goals-against average.

Tonight's matchup marks the third all-time meeting between the two squads.

The Lady Flames are 1-1 all-time against the Patriots. Liberty fell in the last meeting, 2-1, which took place Oct. 5, 2008, in Florence, S.C., but picked up a 1-0 win the previous year at home, on Oct. 18, 2007.
