Today, the "Open Net" segment spotlights Kelly Henion, a freshman from Matthews, N.C.

Henion, a defender/forward for the Lady Flames, graduated from Weddington High School, where she was a varsity letterwinner as a freshman, junior and senior. In her final high school season, she was named the team defensive MVP and scored two goals on the year.

Henion plans to major in exercise science/pre-med at Liberty.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Matthew 22:37. It's something to live by, loving God with every part of you.

What has been your favorite class at Liberty and why?
Sociology, because my teacher was amazing. I learned so many life lessons and met so many new people.

I know it's not good for me, but I love to eat …
Anything chocolate, especially chocolate-covered almonds.

What was the best movie you watched over the last year?
Hardball.

I came to Liberty because …

God made it clear I needed to. Everything fell into place the moment I heard about Liberty.

Share something about one of your teammates that someone outside the program would never know without you telling them.
Kate loves True Religion jeans.

My earliest memory while competing in my sport is …
Having to wear collared, cut-off sleeved jerseys… ew.

If you could be somebody else for a day, who would you be and why?
Someone who saves lives, multiple lives, on a daily basis. Huge accomplishment.

The best part of being a Liberty student-athlete is …

Having Christ as the center of our team and being able to grow closer to Him and to the team at the same time.

My dream job would be …
Operating on children so that they can lead healthy lives.

The team that I'm most looking forward to competing against this year is (and why) …
Coastal Carolina. I want to go to the beach.

What is the best book you have ever read (other than the Bible)?
East of Eden.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Being able to read people's thoughts.

Jesus. He is the only important one in history.

Goofy, because he is happy no matter what and is always positive.

Meet everyone at the summer bridge program.

So far, the Bahamas.
