Gardner-Webb's Daniel Kim (69-72-72—213) edged Liberty's Preston Dembowiak (70-73-70—213) on the second playoff hole to win medalist honors at Longwood's Manor Intercollegiate, at the par-72, 7,214-yard Manor Resort, located in Farmville, Va. Kim sank a bogey on the par 4, hole No. 9, securing the victory after each golfer sat tied through 54 holes, setting a tournament all-time low at 213. Liberty did not compete as a team at the event, but sent nine golfers to the tournament to compete as individuals.

Other Liberty individuals include Stephen Dooley (77-70-73—220) tying for fifth, Max McKay (71-76-75—222) tying for eighth, Andrew Nelson (79-72-78—229) tying for 22nd, Chris Watters (79-76-78—233) tying for 28th, Jordan Frye (78-78-77—233) tying for 28th, Sang Chun (83-81-74—238) tying for 44th, Jacob Singleton (81-77-83—241) tying for 50th and Manuel Moreno (84-82-80—246) tying for 58th.

Big South foe Gardner-Webb (876) took the team championship over host Longwood (885) by nine strokes. Loyola College (903) secured third and George Mason (916) finished in fourth place. George Mason's Josh Apple (71-76-70—217) and Virginia's Steven Rojas (73-71-73—217) finished in a tie for third place, chasing Dembowiak and Kim by four strokes.

Liberty will return to action when it once again will send individuals to compete at the VCU Shootout at the Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Va. The two-day event commences on Sept. 28.
