The Liberty women's soccer team continues its 2009 season today, traveling to Annapolis, Md., to take on the Navy Midshipmen. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Lady Flames (1-3) are led by freshman Madison Short, who has scored two goals on the year, and Maria Owen, who has recorded a team-high 12 shots. Keeper Karen Blocker has tallied 32 saves in 2009. Liberty's win came on Aug. 30, when the Lady Flames defeated East Tennessee State, 2-1, in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Midshipmen (5-1-1) are coming off their first loss of the season, after falling to James Madison, 3-1, at home on Friday night. Navy has posted wins over Boise State and Miami (Fla.). Navy is led by Carissa Youker, who has attempted nine shots and scored three goals on the year.

The matchup marks only the second all-time meeting between the two squads, with Navy coming out on top, 2-1, on Sept. 12, 2008, in Lynchburg.
