Lady Flames Set for JMU Matchup

The Liberty women's soccer team will continue the 2009 season tonight in Harrisonburg, Va., taking on James Madison. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Lady Flames (1-1) are coming off a 2-1 road victory over East Tennessee State on Aug. 30. Silvia Betancourt and Madison Short scored the Liberty goals, and keeper Karen Blocker recorded nine saves in the win.

For the season, Maria Owen leads the Lady Flames in shots, posting seven so far on the year.

The Dukes are 2-1 overall in 2009 after defeating Xavier, 5-1, on Aug. 28 and Bucknell, 3-0 on Aug 30 before falling to Georgetown in a 4-0 decision on Sept. 2. James Madison is led by Corky Julien, who has scored five goals this season.

Liberty is 0-3 all-time against James Madison. The Lady Flames fell, 4-0, in the last meeting in Harrisonburg, Va., on Sept. 21, 2005.
