Liberty golfer Robert Karlsson, a Kalmar, Sweden native, shot an even-par 73 on Friday in the second round of the SAS Masters, a PGA European Tour event at the 7,666-yard, par-73 configuration at the Barseback Golf and Country Club in Malmo, Sweden. Karlsson is participating at the event as an amateur.

At 3:35 p.m. local time, the round was suspended due to thunderstorms in the area. When play was suspended, Karlsson sat in 94th place out of 155 golfers, five of whom are playing as amateurs. While Karlsson has secured the best score amongst the amateurs, he currently has not made the projected cut of golfers to move on to round three on Saturday.

Through two rounds, Karlsson is at four-over par (150) after shooting a 77 in round one. Karlsson entered hole No. 17 at two-over par, but bogeyed the last two holes to finish at four-over par after the opening round. In round two Karlsson birdied holes five, nine and 12, while bogeying holes one, three and seven. Karlsson hit par on the remaining 12 holes.

Karlsson is coming off a stellar freshman season at Liberty, earning Big South Freshman Golfer of the Year honors, a program first, while becoming the first individual for the Flames to garner an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Karlsson also enjoyed Liberty's highest individual national ranking this season, reaching as high as No. 14 by GolfStat.
