Senior Rachel Wisehart and the Lady Flames will kick off the 2009 season with a home game on August 22.

Liberty women's soccer head coach Jess Celi has announced the Lady Flames' 2009 fall schedule. Liberty will kick off the 2009 season on August 22, when the Lady Flames host Montreat College at 3 p.m.

After road games against Virginia, East Tennessee State and James Madison, the Lady Flames will return home to host Old Dominion on September 11. A trip to the Midwest follows, as Liberty travels to Navy, Valparaiso and Northern Illinois in mid-September. The Lady Flames begin conference play in early October, hosting Charleston Southern on Oct. 3 and 2008 Big South champion Coastal Carolina on Oct. 5.

The squad continues Big South play with road games against Winthrop (Oct. 9), Gardner-Webb (Oct. 11) and High Point (Oct. 17), then will host Radford and VMI at Osborne Stadium on Oct. 24 and Oct. 26. The Lady Flames will wrap up the regular season on the road, traveling to UNC Asheville on Oct. 30 and Presbyterian on Nov. 1. The 2009 Big South Conference Championship is slated for November 5-8 in Charleston, S.C.

"The schedule is very strong with so many away contests," commented Celi. "Hopefully, this will prepare us mentally for winning on the road, and ultimately competing in the conference championship. I'm looking forward to see what God has in store for us this season in terms of His ministry, and using our platform as a women's soccer program."
