Liberty freshman Robert Karlsson (82-76—158) continues to sit in a tie for 55th place, participating as an individual through the two rounds of the NCAA Northeast Regional, at the par-71, 7,022-yard Galloway National Golf Club, located in Galloway, N.J., on Friday.

Karlsson sits 16 strokes behind the leader, John Hahn (75-67—142) of Kent State, who is atop all players at even par. There is a two-way tie for second place between Tennessee's Darren Renwick (71-72—143), who entered the day as the leader, but now sits one stroke behind the lead at one over par. Dan Woltman (74-69—143) of Wisconsin is in the other half of the tie for second place. Kyle Stanley (72-72—144) of Clemson rounds out the top four golfers at two over par and two strokes away from capturing medalist honors going into Saturday's final round. Big South Golf of the Year Zack Byrd (76-79—155) of Coastal Carolina fell to 13 shots off the lead and sits in tie for 42nd place.

Tennessee (296-287—583) currently leads all teams with some minor breathing room, as they are five strokes ahead of Alabama (303-285—588). Virginia (298-291—589) holds down third place, six strokes off the pace, while Wake Forest (297-297—594) rounds out the top four teams, 11 shots behind the leader. Big South champion Coastal Carolina (319-303—622) is tied in 12th place with, trailing the Volunteers by 39 strokes.

Karlsson will tee off for round three at 8:30 a.m., on hole No. 10, at the Galloway National Golf Club. The Big South Freshman Golfer of the Year will play in a threesome featuring Kevin Lauretti of Sacred Heart and Austin Quinten from host Columbia.
