Ethan Allen has joined the Liberty women's soccer program as an assistant coach.

Liberty Women's Soccer Head Coach Jess Celi has announced the addition of Ethan Allen to the program's coaching staff, as an assistant coach.

"It is with great excitement and thankfulness that we welcome Coach Allen to the Liberty family," commented Celi. "Ethan and I have worked together for a few years in the coaching world. We share the same vision for discipleship, teaching and excellence, and I anticipate God using Ethan in mighty ways here at Liberty to build into the lives of these incredible young women."

Allen, a 1999 graduate of Pillsbury Bible College in Owataonna, Minn., comes to Liberty after nearly eight years with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club in Charlotte, N.C. After initially being hired as the Assistant General Manager in 2002, Allen was promoted to General Manager of the Lady Eagles W-League Team, a position he held for the remainder of his time in Charlotte.

As the team's general manager, Allen was responsible for managing, organizing and administering all phases of operation for the professional soccer program. He also coordinated scouting and recruiting processes, scheduled all team transportation and oversaw community relations and promotional efforts for the club. In 2006, he was named the W-League Executive of the Year.

Allen first joined the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club as an intern in the spring of 2002, as he finished requirements for his master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala.

Allen's coaching experience spans many age groups, as he currently holds a National ‘C' license with the United States Soccer Federation. He is also a licensed NSCAA goalkeeper coach, and a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Allen has 10 years of coaching experience, including various select club travel teams and high school teams.

"Liberty is a very special place," Allen said. "It's such a great opportunity to have a championship women's soccer program where members of the team not only develop as players, but develop into mature Christian women capable of impacting lives for Christ. I'm very excited to be a part of that."
