2009 Liberty Men's Tennis team

The Liberty Flames men's tennis team has been ranked for the first time in team history listed among the ITA Division I men's rankings released yesterday.

The Flames entered the organization's rankings at No. 155. It is the first time in the 23-year history of the program, the Liberty men's tennis team has been ranked by the ITA.

Head Coach Chris Johnson's squad enters this week's Big South Men's Tennis Championship with a 12-9 overall record. The Flames' victory total is the second most wins by a men's tennis in program history.

Liberty begins the Big South Championship, Thursday in Rock Hill, S.C. The No. 5 seed Flames square off with the No. 5 seed Gardner-Webb Bulldogs at the Winthrop Tennis Courts at 10:30 a.m.
