Davidson Defeats Lady Flames

Davidson dropped just one match in a 6-1 victory over the visiting Liberty Lady Flames in
women's tennis action Saturday at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

The Wildcats opened the dual winning each of the three doubles' matches to grab an early 1-0 team advantage.

In singles play, Davidson won five of the six matches in straight sets.

The Lady Flames' Dina Senkina (Fr., Moscow, Russia) secured the only point for Liberty by defeating Wildcat freshman Michelle Fanney, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, in the #2 singles match.

It was Liberty's first road match of the season.

The win improved the Wildcats to 4-3 overall, while Liberty falls to 0-2 to begin the spring season.

The Flames next entertain in-state foe Mary Washington indoors at the Sports Racket next Saturday. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
