Liberty leads the pack after day one at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.

Liberty (284) continued its hot spring on the links, holding down first place through the first round at William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate, at the par-71, 6,831-yard Kingsmill River Course in Williamsburg, Va. The Flames hold a narrow one stroke lead over Campbell (285) when action ceased on day one, which was played earlier Monday.

There is a five man tie for the individual lead, including Liberty's Tobias Pettersson (70) and Robert Karlsson (70), who sits one under par. The Liberty duo is joined by Campbell's Vaita Guillaume, Gardner-Webb's Immu Korvenmaa and Marshall's Christian Brand in the first place juggernaut.

After Pettersoon and Karlsson, Liberty is led by Nathan Schenz-Davis (71) at even par, while Jay Calvo (73) is two over par. Preston Dembowiak (78) rounds out the Liberty five at seven over par. Three Liberty golfers are participating as individuals in the event. Chris Watters (75) is tied for 34th, Jacob Singleton (81) is tied for 91st and Jordan Frye (86) is tied for 111th.

Besides Campbell, the race for team championship honors includes Temple (292), eight strokes behind the Flames and Big South foe Gardner-Webb (294) who is 10 strokes behind the Flames.

The First Market Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary, will conclude with a final round on Tuesday, at the Kingsmill River Course.
