Liberty freshman Robert Karlsson has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Golfer of the Week, for events played March 1-12.

Participating in only his third collegiate event, Karlsson (Kalmer, Sweden) won medalist honors earlier this week at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational (par-70, 6,617 yards), finishing the 54-hole event with a one-under par 209 (67-73-69). He helped Liberty to a second-place finish out of 14 teams, topping three other Big South members in the event. At the March 2-3 Argonaut Invitational (par-72, 6,815 yards), Karlsson finished fifth with a two-under par 214 (70-74-70), leading the Flames to a runner-up finish in the tournament, one stroke behind Commonwealth foe Virginia.

Karlsson gives Liberty its third conference golfer of the week this season, joining Tobias Pettersson (Oct. 10) and Preston Dembowiak (Sept. 18).

Liberty returns to the links at William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate on March 23. The 54-hole event will be contested at the Kingsmill River Course in Williamsburg, Va.
