Liberty's Robert Karlsson (67-73-69—209) won medalist honors, helping Liberty (875) to a second-place finish at USC Aiken's Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational, at the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C. Karlsson's tournament win is the first medalist honor for a Flame since Tobias Pettersson won the ODU/Seascape Invitational on Oct. 28, marking  Liberty's second medalist honor of the season.

Karlsson entered the day in third place and overcame Charleston Southern's Kelvin Day (72-66-72—210), who was the leader through the tournament's first two rounds. Karlsson edged Day by one stroke to win medalist honors. Niclas Johansson (72-70-71—213) of Georgia College & State University rounded out the top players, finishing in third place, three strokes over par.

After Karlsson, Liberty was led by Pettersson (72-74-74—220) who finished tied for 16th, 10 over par. Preston Dembowiak (72-73-78—223) finished in a tie for 33rd, 13 strokes over par, while Jay Calvo (74-74-77—225) placed in a tie for 38th, 15 strokes over par. Nathan Schenz-Davis (72-81-78—231) rounded out the Flame five at 21 over.

Host USC Aiken (860) edged the Flames by 15 strokes to take home the tournament championship. Wofford (879) finished in third place behind the Flames, missing Liberty's score by four shots. Georgia College & State University (881) rounded out the top squads in fourth place, 21 shots behind the tournament champion.

Liberty takes a couple weeks off competition, before returning to the links on March 23 at William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate. The tournament will be contested at the Kingsmill River Course in Williamsburg, Va.
