Stephanie Brown was a straight set winner, Saturday.

Despite singles victories by Stephanie Brown and Nadia Solomon-Burgess, the Liberty Lady Flames tennis team fell to the Davidson Wildcats, Saturday at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

After jumping out to a 1-0 advantage by taking the three doubles matches, the host Wildcats captured four of the six singles contests against the Lady Flames for the 5-2 match win. In singles, newcomer Nadia Solomon-Burgess defeated Alison Rauh, 6-1, 1-6, 6-1, at No. 3 for Liberty. Meanwhile, teammate Stephanie Brown won her No. 4 singles contest in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, over Molly McDevitt.

The setback drops Liberty to 1-3 on the season. The Lady Flames travel to Buies Creek, N.C., Saturday to face Campbell. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
