Lady Flames Fall to Richmond

The Liberty Lady Flames tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the Richmond Spiders, Sunday afternoon at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.

Richmond captured the doubles point, taking all three doubles matches from Liberty, which falls to 1-2 on the year. The Lady Flames' No. 2 combination of Stephanie Brown and Hannah Fick played in the most tightly contested doubles match, coming up on the short end of a 9-7 decision to the Spiders' pair of Ashlee Vosters and Kelly Tidwell.

In singles, Richmond continued its success. Liberty newcomer Nadia Solmon-Burgess extended her opponent JoAnna Mataszcyk to three sets, before falling 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 in No. 4 singles.

The Lady Flames travel to Davidson Saturday for a match with the Wildcats. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
