Frazee Wins 15th BSC Player of the Week Honor
Frazee's (Xenia, Ohio) third Big South Player of the Week recognition this season came as a result of her performances in the Lady Flames' victories over UNC Asheville (Jan. 19) and Charleston Southern (Jan. 24). For the week, the senior averaged 21.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg and 4.0 apg. She shot 60.7 percent (17-of-28) from the field, 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from three-point range and 100 percent (3-of-3) from the charity stripe.
Frazee opened the week with 22 points and a season-high 14 rebounds versus UNC Asheville. She also tied a season high with a trio of three-pointers and made all three of her foul shots against the Bulldogs.
The Buckeye State native then returned home Saturday to lead all players in points (20), rebounds (9) and blocked shots (2), despite playing a season-low 22 minutes against Charleston Southern. Frazee also shared the team lead, distributing a season-high five assists. Her nine boards catapulted the senior into sole possession of 10th place on the Big South's all-time rebounding list, with 800 career caroms.
Frazee is the first Big South player to win three conference player of the week awards this season, and she has now earned a total of 17 conference weekly honors during her career. In addition to her Big South record-tying 15 Big South Player of the Week plaudits, Frazee was a two-time Big South Freshman of the Week during the 2005-06 campaign.
Frazee has led the Lady Flames to eight consecutive wins since returning from an ankle injury on Dec. 29. Big South-leading Liberty will attempt to continue its winning streak this evening at 7 p.m., when conference rival Coastal Carolina visits the Vines Center.
